Penhalt Farm is situated on the Coastal Downs, a mile south from Widemouth Bay. This is a working farm offering a choice of camping, caravaning and self catering farmhouse holidays in this beautiful corner of the South West. The site provides a sense of open space and clean fresh air and boasts spectacular views of the Atlantic coastline and surrounding countryside. The farm has been worked by the Marks family for at least 400 years and part of the present farmhouse, which stands on a hill overlooking the bay, is now available for self catering holidays. Camping and touring pitches are available on the eight acre site and some pitches have electric hook ups. Alternatively, we have two static caravans for rent - one 4/5 berth and one 6 berth. Lovely sea views greet you from all front windows of Aalsmeer. This three bedroom detached bungalow on the sea front by the Heritage coastal footpath. Situated a stone's throw from the beach, Aalsmeer is blessed with splendid views looking out across Widemouth Bay and up the Coastline. It offers spacious but homely and very comfortable accommodation, well furnished and decorated.

There are a number of interesting activites to be found within easy reach of the farm including tennis, golf, riding and a choice of fishing. Families can be sure of a great day out at the Splash leisure pool in nearby Bude (5 miles) and next door is Harlequinns where there is go karting, ten pin bowling and a children's adventure playground. A little further afield is Brocklands Adventure Park in Kilkhampton, Killarney Springs and The Milky Way, just over the border in North Devon. The farm itself has a number of leisure facilities including a games room with pool table, games machines and swings, climbing frames and a small obstacle course.

Rooms Description

The farmhouse Flat. The self catering farmhouse sleeps up to seven people in three bedrooms and has a large dining room; lounge with TV, stereo and video; and a double aspect kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Campsite. There is a toilet and brand new shower block along with a well equipped wash room with sinks, washing machine, tumble drier and ironing facilities. Our shop supplies all general needs including Calor and Camping Gas. The outdoor children's play area has a table tennis table, basket ball net and football posts. Caravans. Each of these has a lounge area with television and electric fire; kitchen with gas cooker and full sized fridge and a shower with wash basin and toilet. Aalsmeer Bungalow. Inside a small front porch leads to a large L shaped living room with open fireplace, dining table and chairs. Lounge includes TV, Video & Radiogram. The good sized fitted kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, table & chairs. Three bedrooms, sleeping six, comprise; one double, one twin (with wash basin) and one with full sized pine bunk beds. In addition to the bathroom with an over-bath shower there is a separate shower room.

Farmhouse Flat There is a barbeque area outside. Campsite Dogs are welcome on site but must be kept on a lead at all times. Please contact owners before booking dogs into caravans. Aalsmeer Bungalow All linen, towels, logs and coal are provided. There is a payphone on the premises and the property has central heating throughout. Hot water and heating are included in the rental price and there is a £1 coin meter for all other power needs. Aalsmeer is also suitable for the partially disabled. Room for at least three cars off road parking.
