The beach is good for swimming and has plenty of shallow pools for younger children to paddle in. Back at the Penellen Bed and Breakfast the coast footpath leads round Carbis Bay and St Ives in one direction and to Portreath in the other. The coast path is just 10 yards from the Penellen Bed and Breakfast, making it ideal for walkers. Portreath and Godrevy also have superb coastal walks with views that must be seen.

Directions
From the A30 roundabout, take the B3301 thru Hayle town centre. Turn opposite the Jet Filling Station. Follow this road past the "Bucket if Blood" Public House. After passing the caravan park, the road bends sharply to the left - do not follow it road, take the road directly in front of you marked "Private Road" - you will see the sea directly in front of you. Take a right hand turn a few yards down that road and the Penellen awaits you 25 yards down on the left.
