The sand dunes directly in front of the hotel are a rich source of wildlife and the excellent beach beyond offers scope for everything from sunbathing to surfing. The beach is good for swimming and has plenty of shallow pools for younger children to paddle in. Back at the Penellen Bed and Breakfast the coast footpath leads around Carbis Bay and St Ives in one direction and to Portreath in the other. The coast path is just 10 yards from the Penellen Bed and Breakfast, making it ideal for walkers. Portreath and Godrevy also have superb coastal walks with views that must be seen. The delicious breakfast served each morning is not to be missed with a choice from cereals, toast, fruit juices, tea and coffee, or a full English breakfast. Taken in our large dining area, and an option for vegetarians, there is something to suit everyone.

Directions

From the A30 roundabout, take the B3301 thru Hayle town centre. Turn opposite the Jet Filling Station. Follow this road past the "Bucket if Blood" Public House. After passing the caravan park, the road bends sharply to the left - do not follow it road, take the road directly in front of you marked "Private Road" - you will see the sea directly in front of you. Take a right hand turn a few yards down that road and the Penellen awaits you 25 yards down on the left.
