The Merrymoor Inn is a fully licensed freehouse which has been run by our family since 1961. Although many things have altered since then, our aims remain unchanged. We offer comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation and good food and drink in a friendly relaxed atmosphere, all at exceptionally good value and only 50 yards from Mawgan Porth Beach. During the warm summer months, our patio and garden provide the perfect setting for your leisurely drink or al fresco meal overlooking the bay. Guests can also enjoy lovely seaviews from out comfortable lounge which adjoins the breakfast room where full english breakfasts are served from 8.30a.m. until 9.15 a.m. Our well stocked bar with panoramic views of the bay offers a choice of real ales coupled with a varied menu for both lunchtimes and evenings.

Mawgan Porth is an attractive coastal village some 8 miles south of Padstow where the cliffs sweep down to a horseshoe-shaped bay with fine golden sands. At the mouth of the bay and backing in to the Vale of Lanherne, stands the Merrymore Inn, just a fifty yard level walk from the sea. The large expanse of pale golden sand framed by cliffs and sand dunes offers both space and seclusion. The hamlet of Mawgan Porth is situated in a lush green valley, where the discerning walker can go inland here, picking up the Vale of Lanherne trail leading to the pretty village of St. Mawgan and on through Carnanton Woods to the historic market town of St.Columb. We are 2 miles from Jamie Olivers Fifteen at Watergate and 9 miles from Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant at Padstow. Newquay Airport is just 2 miles away and there are many flights from around the country.

Rooms Description

We have 7 very well equipped rooms, all rooms have crisp white bedlinen, TV, complimentary Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Biscuits, and private bath/ shower rooms, one even has a jacuzzi bath! All rooms are fully centrally heated making them ideal for out of season breaks. We are rated 4* Guest Accomodation by the ETB

Specialities

Our well stocked bar has a fine selection of real ales, malt whiskies and wines available for you to enjoy with our panoramic views of the bay. We are happy to welcome 1 dog per room of which a small charge of £5 will be made irrespective of the length of stay. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times whilst in public areas. Dogs are allowed in the bar but we regret they are not allowed in the dining room. It would be appreciated if the doggie guests would bring their own bed and towel.
