A warm welcome awaits you at Calize Country House, set in its own grounds above the village of Gwithian. Built in the 1870's for Lord Hocking, it has fabulous views across to Godrevy Lighthouse and St Ives Bay. A six month refurbishment was completed in April 2005 to provide four ensuite bedrooms reflecting the character of the building and optimising the wonderful position. There is also a two bedroom self contained apartment. The accommodation is non smoking, offers full and varied breakfasts and is ideally situated for house guests to enjoy this picturesque corner of Cornwall. House guests can walk to one of the finest sandy beaches in the country, join the South West Coast Path or simply potter down to the local pub for a pint and a snack. Plenty of complimentary private parking is available at Calize.

Set on the outskirts of the village of Gwithian with glorious views across open countryside to Godrevy Lighthouse and St Ives Bay, Calize Cottage is a lovely year round retreat. Three miles of beautiful golden sands and undulating dunes stretching from Gwithian to Hayle and superb coastal walks from Godrevy to Portreath are an enticing mix for those who yearn to be close to the sea. Part of a sizeable country house built in 1870 for Lord Hocking and now run as a guest house, a very comfortable and totally self-contained apartment with two spacious en-suite bedrooms has been created. Large double outlook picture windows add a light airy aspect to an open plan living room that incorporates tastefully arranged lounge/dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen. Beautifully furnished and carpeted throughout in a sea of soft beige, a neutral décor pervades adding a restful quality to all the rooms. A private patio to the front of the cottage is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the extensive views, or a ten minute stroll will take you down to the village pub and beach which is a paradise for surfers, windsurfers or those content to laze with the soft sand between their toes. Calize Cottage is unsuitable for children under 5 years. It is also strictly non-smoking and no pets.
