Rooms Description

EXAMPLES - FOXES DEN, is a beautiful, two bedroom self catering cottage, standing in the sunny grounds of Lanlawren Farm. Now you can enjoy the barn’s sunsets and timeless views - across the Fowey Valley towards the Eden Project. At night, you will be able to listen to the foxes and the owls, while enthralled by a star filled heaven - against a dark sky, unpolluted by street lighting. We have taken pains to preserve the old timber and stonework of the barn. Foxes Den has a wonderful upstairs sitting/dining room with a wood burner and mellow stone walls. A feature of the sitting room is the old timber pegged “A” frames. A sympathetic building inspector has made it possible to keep these. The Den is equipped to 5* standards. There is, of course, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, dryer etc. Also included are telephone, video and BBQ terrace with garden furniture. There is a luxury bathroom with shower. THE LINNEY is a cosy cottage facing South over the courtyard. This cottage sleeps up to six. It has an attractive living room with a vaulted roof, exposed trusses and a beautiful open corner fireplace. HOP HOUSE - Is an upstairs apartment with a large low window facing west, with wonderful views across to the Cornish Alps and perfect for sunset worshippers. It sleeps up to 5 and features exposed stone walls. Most of the old estates of Cornwall were self-sufficient in their beer and cider-making. It must have helped on the long winter evenings! They would typically have a hop garden and several fields of grist or malt. Lanlawren was no exception. The grist and corn mills were fed by Peakswater and are referred to in the 13th Century records. The original Hop House had a keystone dated 1601. CULVER HOUSE - Is a small ground floor apartment sleeping four. This apartment has a very pleasant aspect onto the gardens, where you can enjoy the evening sun around a barbecue. GRIST MILL - Is an upstairs apartment with views across the garden and Westwards over the Fowey Valley and towards the Cornish Alps. It sleeps up to 5 people and has an exposed stone wall and open granite fireplace for a cosy atmosphere. Most of the old estates of Cornwall were self-sufficient in their beer and cider-making. It must have helped on the long winter evenings! They would typically have a hop garden and several fields of grist or malt. Lanlawren was no exception.
