Redgate Smithy Lovely B&B In The Heart Of South East Cornwall, On The Southern Edge Of Bodmin Moor.

Redgate Smithy is in the heart of South East Cornwall, on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, near the village of St.Cleer, and three miles north west of Liskeard. We are situated in a country lane just above the beautiful wooded Golitha Falls on the River Fowey. Lovely for walking! Built around 200 years ago, Redgate Smithy is now a friendly and welcoming Bed and Breakfast. We have a lovely woodland garden that has a patio and other seating areas, and a large conservatory for guests' use at any time, plus comfortable beamed, well equipped cottage style bedrooms. We offer a relaxing home-cooked breakfast from our Breakfast Menu, cooked on the range, and prepared to order using local produce as much as possible, supplied by Taste of the West Country St.Cleer Farm Shop, who we are pleased to support. The beautiful Golitha Falls are literally just down the lane opposite us, and are set in the lovely wooded valley of the River Fowey. In amongst the lichen covered trees are also all that now remains of the old Wheal Victoria Copper Mine, and its old wheel-pits, shafts and adits. To get to the Falls, it is a very short walk down the lane and then left over Draynes Bridge. The nature reserve is in the old Draynes Wood, and there is a bi-lingual (Cornish) welcome plaque near the entrance, giving details of walks and wildlife that can be seen in the reserve.
