A delightful restored stone cottage situated in the village of Delabole, providing the perfect base for a Cornwall holiday. This restored cottage has a small, cosy living room with beamed low ceilings & a slate fireplace, TV (with Freeview), video, DVD, CD player. Also on the ground floor is the spacious fitted kitchen with a traditional Delabole slate floor - the dining area leads to a pretty paved garden with mature borders. The kitchen is fully equipped with: four ring ceramic hob, built-in oven, half-size dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave & fridgefreezer. Bikes or surfboards can be stored at the back of the house.
Ruby Cottage is located next to the village hairdressers on the B3314. Delabole is famous for its historic slate quarry and provides a convenient base for a holiday - there are two pubs, several shops (including a very well stocked grocery shop), post office, hairdressers, garage and fish & chip shop. Trebarwith Strand, which is a beautiful sandy beach at low tide and popular with surfers is about 1 1/4 miles away by road (nearer if you are willing to walk), where the Port William pub has good fresh food and fine views. Tregardock Beach is a little further and as the last mile or so only accessible by foot, it guarantees a quiet spot even in the height of the summer. Other beaches and seaside villages nearby are only a short drive. Within the village, there are the Ferndale farm coarse fishing lakes. There is an indoor swimming pool in nearby Camelford.
