St Johns View - Crackington Haven

A new three bedroom and three bathroom five star self catering holiday cottage in Crackington Haven, the beach is less than one mile away and Bude ten miles.

St John's View is a large 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom contemporary luxury stone fronted cottage that is available to rent throughout the year. The property is less than a mile from the fantastic North Cornish cove of Crackington Haven which is itself close to the famous beaches of Widemouth Bay and a short drive from Padstow and Bude. The front door opens into a small porch that after a couple of steps opens up to a vaulted entrance area. A custom built open birch staircase takes you up to the first floor whilst a turn to the right leads you to an area for shoes and coats and the ground floor wet room. The style of the wet room reflects the other bathrooms, white and minimalist with first class fittings. We invested in a wet room with walkers and surfers in mind. Moving back to the main living area our thought was to keep everything as open as possible. Under foot throughout the first floor are limestone flagstones, constantly warmed by the underfloor heating. The views are framed by two sets of timber folding doors to the right is our sitting area with two sofas one finished in leather and the other in fabric. The 42" Plasma screen on the wall is deliberately tucked away but come the evening when you want to settle down to your favourite DVD the system dominates this area as you would expect latest technology to do so. We have a standard Sky package that allows access to all the free channels + the Entertainment and Eurosport mixes. All of this whilst you can warm your tired muscles (if they are tired!) in front of our Scandinavian wood burner. The middle area is set out with a dining table and eight matching chairs. The left hand side of the area is then left over to the kitchen we have taken the stone frontage indoors and the kitchen cabinets are placed in front of slate that comes from the quarry only five minutes up the road. A variety of crisp white kitchen cabinets are accompanied by an integrated Bosch dishwasher and Diplomat range cooker all topped with black granite worktops. As you look at the kitchen to the left there is an internal door that leads to a large utility area with tumble drier, washing machine and large sink (ideal for those muddy boots).

The stairs wind their up to the first floor via a half landing and onto the full landing, under foot you'll find an Oak floor. The right is the first of three bedrooms all finished with crisp white walls and wool carpets : A double bedroom with simple birch veneer wardrobes allow for all the space you could possible want on a rental holiday. The views as you would expect are just as fantastic as downstairs, we positioned all the living accommodation to the rear of the property thereby exploiting the sites natural assets. When specifying the bathrooms the limestone flags and matching tiles on the wall provide a fantastic base for the large walk in Matki shower with dual shower heads. A rounded double ended bath, matching basin with wall mounted water spouts add to the feel of luxury. The close coupled WC finishes off the look. Returning back to the landing the second bedroom has twin divans that can easily be pushed together to create a double. The lighting, as in all the rooms is provided by wall washers illuminating the exposed ceiling timbers with separate bedside lights. The second bathroom provides a bath with shower over, basin and WC all to the same high specification. The third bedroom is the largest and is set out with both a double bed and day bed. We have taken advantage of the timber frame in this room leaving exposed as much of the wood as we possibly could. Because of it's position this bedroom also supplies the best view in the entire house. Bathroom 3 has no bath but a large shower, basin and WC that match the specification of bathrooms 1 and 2.
