Schooners Hotel is located on Hugh Town beach and enjoys uninterrupted views across the harbour towards the off islands. The quay is close by and the hotel is well placed for pubs, shops, restaurants and St Mary's beautiful sandy beaches. Schooners Hotel is part of the Rat Island Sailboat Company, the island's sailmakers who bring in supplies and materials aboard their sailing ketch. The company also runs a canvas workshop next door to the hotel where they make and sell 'Rat Bags' luggage and clothing.

The hotel's waterside location and links with the islands shipbuilding past have influenced the decor of the hotel and there is a maritime theme throughout, particularly in the Schooner's Bar. Cuisine is managed by our talented chef who creates a range of dishes featuring island produce including local fish and traditional recipes are preferred. All soups, breads and pastries are home made and the menu is created daily, depending on the local availability of prime ingredients. Vegetarian diets are happily catered for with a little prior notice.
