The Well House B&B - Fowey

A fifteenth Century guest house in Fowey with immediate access to shops, restaurants and pubs. Lots of period character throughout and en-suite guest rooms.

The Well House Bed and Breakfast in Fowey is so named after the well house found in the courtyard to the rear of the property! The accommodation is to be found in what was once a merchant's house in the very centre of Fowey, close to shops, pubs, restaurants and the picturesque harbour. The house was built in 1430 and is reputedly the oldest building in Fowey, constructed the year before Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. The kitchen of the Well House is enchanting and the fireplace and beams remain much as they were when the place was built.

Fowey sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, at the mouth if the beautiful River Fowey. The area around has many wonderful coastal and riverside walks whilst the town itself has a wide range of amenities. Visitors can learn more of the rich and fascinating history of the place in the museum and aquarium. This area of Cornwall is renowned for its magnificent beaches, secluded coves and quaint fishing villages but is perhaps best known for its fabulous gardens.
