The Crown Inn at Lanlivery is one of the oldest pubs in Cornwall and offers fabulous Cornish hospitality near St Austell, Bodmin, the Eden Project, Lostwithiel, Lanhydrock and Fowey. this historic inn dates back to the 12th Century, when it housed the masons and builders employed to build the local church. The building is a traditional long house and at one time would have been one room with a turf roof and a hole somewhere to let the smoke from the fire out. This charming building has undergone a few changes over the years and now offers comfortable and luxurious guest accommodation in addition to delicious meals and fine Cornish ales.

The pub oozes charm and character and has many of the traditional features one would expect from a building of this age including thick stone walls, low beamed ceilings and open fireplaces. The old fireplace in the main bar features a unique bread oven which is unusually large and lined with granite. There is an abundance of fine local produce available virtually on the doorstep and we use local meat, fish and seasonal vegetables grown locally to create tasty meals that are available every day at The Crown Inn. Quality real ales brewed by Sharps in Rock and Skinners in Truro provide the perfect accompaniment to any meal and offer a true taste of Cornwall.

Rooms Description

The Crown Inn at Lanlivery has nine delightful en-suite guest rooms, two of which are located in a converted outbuilding across the garden from the main pub. Two double rooms are located on the ground floor of the pub and a further five are housed in a new building overlooking the garden. All rooms are complete with digital TV, tea and coffee making facilities and free wireless broadband Internet. One of our rooms contains an additional single bed with a further pull out bed below and we have fold out beds available for children in some of our other rooms.

Specialities

Dogs are welcome at the Crown Inn, though the rooms in which they can stay are restricted. Children are most welcome. There is a laundry service available on request.
