Gay Friendly Hotels and Accommodation Cornwall UK

Cornwall, much like the Lake District is, if you will, not 'gay scene' territory, and is a bit thin on the ground for gay mecca fun and larks? The Gay Times does point to some listings of gay bars, gay guesthouses and gay club nights in Cornwall locations such as Truro, Falmouth, Penzance and St Ives. There's a small selection of Gay owned Newquay hotels but no gay hotspots or scene which is a bit of a mystery! Party town Newquay needs to work a bit harder here - and take it's lead from Blackpool!

The closest to a developing gay network and scene is probably in bohemian and arts/cultural centre Penzance, with Gay Nights at the Penzance Arts Club, and also in Truro with the gay club drawer here being Eclipse. Check the Gay Times Website for listings of gay clubs, gay bars and gay guest houses and hotels around Cornwall. Check out also www.outback.org.uk for up-to-date listings of Cornwall gay owned guesthouses, women only B&Bs, gay cafes, bars and Lesbian owned and run campsites - it's a great website this and currently developing.

Check out too the Outback Camping in Cornwall event which has been running a few years now just a few miles outside Truro. Find details at www.outeverywhere.com. This gay Cornwall camping event is pulling in the crowds, and is non-profit making, pouring all money earned back into future events!

Gay Friendly Guest Houses and Accommodation Penzance Truro and Falmouth

Ah, the twin bed nightmare! Gay friendly accommodation means a warm and friendly welcome to gay and lesbian guests, usually located close to gay bars, gay saunas and gay clubs. Check out the www.outback.org.uk website for a great list of gay friendly and gay owned Cornwall accommodation which includes gay guest houses, gay owned Cornwall Campsites and gay run restaurants in Falmouth, Penzance, Truro and elsewhere in Cornwall. Outback.org.uk also has a great links page! They're a voluntary run group based in Penzance, Cornwall and produce a monthly Newsletter for Lesbians, Dykes, Gay and Bi-sexual Women - working in conjunction with Lesbian Line - they're looking for fundraising ideas at the moment, so if you have any give them a cool and help to keep this essential and superb Cornwall gay network resource alive and kicking!

When booking accommodation, know what you want before booking, make it clear to the hotel, guesthouse or accommodation owner and this way you're more likely to end up with the perfect gay friendly accommodation venue for you! There's always a bit of luck involved if you're visiting an area for the first time! Websites like outback.org.uk with their useful listings for gay friendly venues are useful too!

Some gay friendly guesthouses may be exclusively gay, some gay friendly welcoming all. Check out 'Gay Times. Great Britain and Ireland', by John Szponarski for some useful tips or the Spartacus International Gay Guide.
