Cornwall diving too couldn't be better. Learn to scuba dive at Looe in East Cornwall and take a trip out to Looe Island for superb ship wreck diving. One of Cornwall's best diving spots is off the Lizard coast around the Manacles reef. For diving on the Scilly Isles check out those clear waters around St Martins - it all happens in the water around the Cornish coast!
Cornwall has numerous sailing clubs and hosts annual sailing regattas in top Cornwall sailing locations such as Falmouth, Saltash, Fowey and elsewhere. Fowey on the South Cornwall coast is prime sailing territory. Fowey's Royal Regatta takes place in Mid August (usually the third full week) annually, and is a superb event with lots going on, not just on the sailing side but on land as well. Many of the events are free, and great for families. All the key sailing organisations, including Fowey Yacht Club and Fowey Gallants Sailing club are involved. The event is a great spectacle and well worth hooking in to! There's ample opportunity for Cornwall boat trips for example from Hugh Town, St Mary's on the Isles of Scilly - take various boat trips around the Scilly Isles. Looe Harbour offers a wide choice of boat trips for visitors, as does Padstow Harbour, Newquay and St Ives.
Cornwall Walking Holidays and Cycling Holidays
Cornwall Walking holidays offer a range of walking themes from dramatic coastal walking along the South West coast path, particularly dramatic around the Lizard and Far West of Cornwall. Alternatively hook into one of Cornwall's many historic mining trails, now receiving much regeneration attention. The circular Great Lode trail of about 6 miles is one of the best, situated near Camborne.
Opportunities for walking and bird watching abound in Cornwall. The Isles of Scilly, particularly St Mary's (the largest and perfect for a walking day trip) and St Agnes offer idyllic coastal walking and well marked trails. Many new family holiday trails are emerging in Cornwall including the new Camel trail running from Padstow through Wadebridge on to Bodmin - this trail is perfect for family cycling tours too. Finally, Bodmin Moor offers a choice of rugged moorland walking taking in dramatic prehistoric sites such as the Hurlers near Minions or dramatic granite outcrops such as the Cheesewring. Move south in Bodmin Moor for the stunning Golitha Falls woodland walk.
There's a choice of Cornwall B&B guest houses all along the South West Coast path, with top Cornwall walking locations being Fowey, Wadebridge with easy access to the Camel Trail, St Agnes, St Ives, Penzance, Porthleven and the Lizard, St Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula and Camelford which offers easy access into Bodmin.
