For a real delve into the Nightlife, lifestyle and music scene (all with a surfing focus) check out the definitive local rag Twenty4Seven (weblink to the right). A superior and informative magazine indeed and what's more it's free free free. You can download backdated editions from the websites and enjoy interviews and surfing/music/lifestyle news with gig listings, surfing clothing features, and top surfing tips and good surfing books. Well worth a look! Newquay nightclubs often feature and there's a good selection to choose from, making Newquay not just surfer heaven, but nightlife heaven too.

In peak season Newquay comes alive with surfers and clubbers packing into it's many clubs, chic bars and pubs. Newquay is definitely Cornwall's top hotspot for nightclubs with everything from the large 4 bar Beach Nightclub to chic cosy Chy Bar which serves food and has Latin funk playing Fridays and soulful easygoing funk on Saturdays. Nearly all of the Newquay nightclubs are licensed until 2am with some staying open longer in the peak summer months.

On the Newquay club side what have you got? Well, the big ones are Beach Nightclub open every night, and with four large bars spread over three floors. Music here is mainstream dance but there's good 1970s and indie nights here too, with student nights on Thursdays in the summer months when discount drinks are available. On the lively pub side try Central in Central Square which certainly pulls in the crowds, but people gravitate outside on the pedestrianised square on warm evenings. This pub serves good cocktails and has comfy lounge sofas, an art deco interior and it serves food all day.

Other Newquay clubs include the largest and perhaps best known Berties on East Street. Quite mainstream, Berties pumps out chart hits, R&B and hip-hop with a sprinkling of retro 70s and 80s in one of it's three rooms. For live bands head for Foster's on Narrowcliff and they have Gay parties on Fridays. Koola also on Beach Road also has live acts and mood lifting interior and a more smooth jazzy feel to it's urban and house music. Other choices include Tall Trees, Springbok and rip roaring Walkabout, the Aussie Bar. Web links and contact numbers are all to the right!
